Who We Are

"We exist to equip, disciple, and send followers of Christ into their homes, workplaces, and community to share the love of Christ."

The purpose of St. Mark is summarized in this single phrase based on the Great Commission.
"Jesus said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.' "
Matthew 28:19-20

Purpose

  • Worship: Our recognition of who God is and our lifestyle response to Him

  • Fellowship: Our responsibility to love and serve one another within the Body of Christ

  • Discipleship: Our dedication to personal growth toward Christ-likeness

  • Outreach: Our commitment to share Jesus Christ and His love with our world

  • Service: Our call to serve others through our God-given personal and corporate resources

Values

  • All people matter to God and, therefore, matter to us. (John 3:16, 1 Timothy 2:4)

  • The church must be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. (Colossians 2:8, 1 Timothy 6:20-21)

  • Christians should be authentic and continually growing in their relationship with God. (Colossians 2:6-7)

  • The Church is a united community of servants who exercise their spiritual gifts in ministry with an attitude of love. (Romans 12:4-8)

  • Every believer should be actively involved in ministry in his or her area of passion and giftedness. (1 Peter 4:10)

Affiliation

We are affiliated with the Missionary Church, USA, and part of the North Central District, a family of churches located in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. (mcncr.org)

History

In 1962, a small group of families began to meet with a vision to raise up a church that would be devoted to godly teaching, faithful service, and healthy community. With the support of another local church, St. Mark acquired land in 1967 to build its first building. This was home to the members of St. Mark for nearly 35 years until they had grown well beyond capacity. With much prayer and faith, land was purchased and a new church building was constructed in 2003. We are thankful for the vision and faithfulness of the early founders of St. Mark Missionary Church.
